Pie Fest 2025
50th Annual Pie Fest
'Tis the morning of Pie Fest, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring at 6:30 a.m., not even a Charlie dog. Dad springs out of bed and into the shower at 7:00, and the lazy dog finally gets out of bed and follows him. After a bad sleep, he is ready to go by 8:00am, then it's go go go time!! Pies have been made and prepared the day before for today's celebrations. The celebration of family. Dad made a Bailey's chocolate Maltesers pie this year in the hope of being the winning pie. Rules: first pie to get eaten wins. Pie Fest used to include golfing before or a paddle and pie, but in the end, we just like the pies better.

To start off our day, I'm doing bright and colourful makeup to represent all the different pies. Glitter glore to shine to the gods. Then we have to drive to Cambridge to drop off stuff at my sister's house that she forgot here. Then we were off to the Toronto airport to pick up Mom after her 109km walking Scotland trip. Picked her up at post #42, and now the next stop from here is all the way back home, so mom can shower, then all the way to Pie Fest in Huron Woods, Grand Bend.
It's famous and well known; people come from far and wide to attend this event. Even if you're not a family member, as long as you can bring a pie, you can participate. We have old high school teachers, avid play goers, and just lifelong friends that attend. We even have forks on a string. It's a family tradition that will keep going and one I will never miss.

You summed that up perfectly
