What is a Capsule Wardrobe?
A capsule wardrobe is a minimalist collection of clothes that can be put together in different ways to cover a variety of outfits and occasions. The aim is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion. This is usually achieved by buying what are considered to be "key" or "staple" items in coordinating colours.
Here is one I created for class using staple pieces from my closet. These few pieces of clothing can be worn in so many ways.
You have your Basics like two pairs of shoes, three tops, one pair of pants, one pair of shorts and two coats/jackets. You have your accessories: a belt, a bow, earrings, a scrunchy, a hat and two pairs of socks. This is all you need to create a Capsule Wardrobe.
Your capsule changes depending on the season as you won't need a winter coat for the summer. Or you wont need shorts its if its the winter vice versa. The capsule shown is for the fall/winter months, the in-between seasons.
