A Self Care Weekend

I started the weekend by waking up at 5:30 a.m. to attend The Restoration Mastors Car Show in Chatham with my dad. He likes to show off his cute little 1976 MGB, which has a secret special blend of paints, and it's even equipped with a suitcase on the back. I've always loved car shows. I got introduced to them as a young teenager, and now we go as a family whenever we get the chance. I like the classic cars, of course, but I love looking for all the little details that people have put into their vehicles. The time, the work, and the effort is outstanding. Its cool seeing cars all done up like a 'Rat Mobil ' or "Fred Flintstone's Car" or "Cars with Quilts" and " The General Lee". This year, my heart was drawn to the low riders. The hot rods. The American classics and the speed demons.

Next up on the self-care weekend, my family went to Miricle Max's Minions sunflower field for a good old photo shoot. We had our fun and donated to a good cause.

Next up was a surprise that I am incredibly grateful and beyond thankful for. I received a text from a friend asking if I wanted to get my nails done free of charge. I am not working at the moment, so I cannot afford special things like nails right now. My heart grew so much bigger. It's the little things. She knows I'm going through a very tough time personally. My bipolar disorder is at an all-time low. A wonderful and relaxing spa day was exactly what I needed to reset my brain. Plus I just love getting my nails done, its the creative process that does it for me. I came home with some very kickass rocking 2000 nails.
Even if you're going through a tough time, just keep pushing. One good thing and day can be a huge accomplishment and a mighty hard task. Today I am thankful.

I am grateful for the people in my life who offer support and encouragement when I am feeling low. I appreciate those who consistently comfort me by wiping away my tears. Feeling lonely can be very distressing, particularly when you are aware of the presence of a strong support network. It's important to keep moving forward, taking things one step and one day at a time. Sometimes, it's necessary to tackle challenges by focusing on each hour and minute as they come. I will best this low.
