My First Photoshoot

Walk with your head held high and with your tiara first. Fashion diva superstar coming your way. I’ve always been interested in fashion, setting up little runways as a kid and making our parents take our pictures doing poses at the end. This spiraled into my love of photography, setting up and participating in fashion shoots. Which then turned into a deep love for fashion styling.

I was barely fifteen when my best friend at the time said we could use her dads photography set for an outdoors photoshoot in the late fall/winter.

We started off in her backyard looking for spaces that could make a nice scenic background. The garden will do, we decided upon.

I bought this shirt in the big city of Toronto at Forever 21 and it quickly became one of my favorites. I wore this braided crimped hairstyle everyday in high school as it was part of my ‘look’.

My earring have quotes from Romeo and Juliet rolled into a scroll and I never took them off for 7 years. They matched everything and held a lot of sentimental value. My pants made a statement around my high school as they were different from what the rest was wearing. Different black and white patterns on either leg, I loved to wear these pants nonstop. I bought them at Stitches in Sarina when it was still an up and running business.

After feeling like a magical fairy nymph of the gardens, we set of to Marthaville Conservation Area with equipment in hand. With the help from her dad we set up our lighting and tripod with our camera and started shooting to see what we could get.

We wandered into the forest not too far. Found this broken down tree and decided this would be the best place for a photo. Of course an outfit change was due, and as this pink coat never left my side, of course we had to take a photo in it.

We managed to snap this gem which has become one of my favorite photos of all time.
